leaf blower

august? AUGUST!? wow, time is not holding back. it refuses to slow down, and i am having trouble keeping up.

this morning i left my apartment in a bit of a hurry (well, that's actually a huge understatement). my hair was wet, as it often is when i leave, but considering i had literally just stepped out of the shower less than 10 minutes before, it was more wet than usual. i saw a worker from my apartment complex blowing dead leaves out of the parking lot, and thought to myself, 'i wonder what it would be like if he blew my hair dry with his leaf blower.' needless to say, i did not ask to find out... but i did have a little chuckle with myself.

a few things

here are a few pictures from the last couple months!

luke and me before he ran off to get married (to the amazing jessica hughes!!) and had to cut his hair. look at that fro!!! i recently went to visit two friends up north in santa maria. we went up to san luis obispo and saw this entire wall/alley way of gum! i had to do my part and add some ;)

cubs game!! woo. i don't love baseball, but if i were going to cheer for a team hard core, it would be the cubs! also, nicah (middle) and i might start a radio show where we comment on baseball games by talking about experiences in our life relating to baseball, or why we don't understand something. i think we would be quite entertaining :)

my painting

a while back i talked about a painting class i was taking. well....here are the results. my first painting ever!! i'm no professional artist, but i am very proud!!

white cars...

i didn't realize that it has been a month since i last updated! wow!

i've been thinking lately how much of a bias i have against white cars. there is just something about them that rubs me the wrong way. and i definitely stereo type the people who drive white cars...sorry if you have one! i don't know what it is, but man white cars make me think of a woman in her 40s, a big time movie executive who thinks she is just the best thing since sliced bread. say her name is....kelly?

i just don't like white cars. i'm crazy.

voyage of the dawn treader.

for those of you who are fans of C.S. Lewis, or more importantly, fans of The Chronicles of Narnia, you should know that The Voyage of the Dawn Treader comes out this Christmas!

i just watched the trailer, and i have to say that i am very much looking forward to seeing this film. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was probably my favorite book to imagine while reading. i am especially drawn to stories that follow characters on a journey, this one being an exciting journey at sea.

the hollywood forever cemetery has saturday movie nights every summer and a group of friends and i went to see Casablanca this past saturday. it was so much fun hanging out, drinking wine and picnic-ing together! the movie started at 9p, but we got there around 6p to save spots in line, and believe me, it got crowded really fast so we were glad to get there when we did!

this is definitely a los angeles event that you don't want to miss! i highly recommend it :)
