Los Angeles, CA, October 30, 2009 – The 2^nd Annual MOSAIC LA FILM FEST (MOLAFF) is the follow- up to one of the most successful film festival debuts in Los Angeles.  The 2009 MOSAIC LA FILM FEST dares to go where no other film festival has gone – into an exploration of the human spirit to capture our deepest desires, to ask what moves us, what inspires us, and what shakes us with the theme of “Soul Cravings: An Exploration of the Human Spirit.”

The Mosaic LA Film Festival officially opens Saturday, November 14, 2009 with a red carpet like no other. It will be held in downtown Los Angeles at the Mayan Theater located at 1038 S. Hill St. 90015.  Doors open at 12:00pm with the first session starting at 12:30pm and the second session beginning at 4:00pm. 

Based off the themes from Erwin McManus’ book Soul Cravings, the films accepted into the festival are creative expressions of what the human soul craves – intimacy, destiny and meaning – from the established and emerging talented filmmakers from around the world.

This year’s film festival will include an interactive theatrical introduction, spoken word, art installations, guest speakers, directors meet & greet, Q&A, music entertainment, food, and so much more.

As with 2008, the 2009 Mosaic LA Film Fest gives filmmakers the opportunity to engage their art, beliefs, and purpose to create inspired, meaningful works.  Author and MOLAFF Judge, Erwin McManus said of last year’s festival, "The Mosaic LA Film Festival came as a welcomed surprise to those who attended. Its inaugural year established MOLAFF as a source of fresh and talented film makers from around the world. We were wonderfully reminded that the story matters."

Thanks to the generous talent of the artists, a dedicated staff, and industry support behind the scenes, this film festival has set the tone to be one of the most influential and inspirational experiences for audiences and the filmmaking industry as a whole. Whether you are a filmmaker or a film lover, you will be inspired by this experience. The Mosaic LA Film Fest is more than a collection of brilliant short films, it’s an experience of the heart.

they totally went to the chapel!

last week i had the priviledge of attending the beautiful wedding of zach ford and bobbie bagby (well now i should say bobbie bagby FORD!) yay for good friends and marriage :)

AND while in kansas city, i celebrated living in california for a whole entire year. yay! i can't believe how fast time has gone by. crazy, huh?

change.

i realized that i still need to get used to the constant flux of people coming in and out of my life...and that it's okay. and the need to find a balance between being numb to people leaving, and allowing it to devastate you. it's very tricky, this thing we call change.

Apple Z

when i was in college, two of my friends were graphic design majors. they both had macs, so when they would want to 'undo' something while designing, they would press Apple Z. i remember them saying how they wished they could press Apple Z in real life. you know, 'undo' something that actually happened. ha. i love that. and totally wish it could happen. i've definitely been having Apple Z moments lately. whether it's pressing send on an email and wishing i could Apple Z that, or letting something slip out of my lips and wishing i could Apple Z those words.

but alas, there is no 'undo' button in life. just having grace with yourself and learning from your mistakes.

driving sneezes.

have you ever been able to keep your eyes open while sneezing? this morning i was driving in to work and had to sneeze. i definitely love a good sneeze, so i wasn't going deny that sweet release...but i did happen to be driving on a windy road at the time, and closing my eyes wasn't the best idea. i tried to keep them open, but alas, i haven't quite figured out how to do that!

last day of summer.

wow. is that right? tomorrow is the first day of fall. that seems crazy to me. i am secretly hoping that i will wake up and it won't be 90 degrees out, i will feel a crisp breeze as i walk, and i will crunch A LOT of leaves.

here's to hoping?
