it's a cloudy friday.

it's one of those days where you look outside and you think it could down pour at any moment.
i kind of hope it does.

but, this weather is very appropriate for the friday morning i've been having so far...

so, i get up this morning at 5:20. a little early, but i just joined a gym so that i can swim. (my knees have not been doing so great lately.) i'm driving along trying to find the 24 hour fitness in west hollywood. i can't really find it, but it's okay because i've got my harry potter 6 on cd in my car to listen to. life is still good. so i finally find it and realize that there's no parking lot. boo. after learning that it costs about $5 to park in the parking structure, i decide to park on the street. i see that the spot i need to parallel park in, is pretty big. sweet. i pay my '20 minutes per quarter' and head in to swim. after some trouble actually finding the pool, which was outside, i start my swim. it felt good to be back in the pool. i finish my work out and head back to my car to find this note:

"you took up two spots asshole -- someone got mad so they keyed your car"
*directly quoted, sorry for the language.

i quickly examine my car to see where the damage was. fortunatley i didn't find it to be to alarming. but still, who would write a note that like! i didn't even know i was taking up two spots! oh man, really!? i get in my car and as i'm driving away, pretty upset, maybe even crying a little... i think to myself "i hate LA."

HA. that was my morning.

this past weekend a bunch of us got to go up to san jose for our friend justin's graduation! it was so fun to meet his friends & family, and to hang out in a HOUSE. i love meeting new people. the Spencer's (who hosted the party) are from south africa. so amazing to talk with them.

and on sunday i got to see sam sam!!! who i hadn't seen since camp last year. so great. we went to san francisco for the day and had an awesome time. we saw seals, crazy people dressed in silver, drunk people on a boat, bakers baking bread at Boudins (and we ended up having lunch with a girl who worked there bc she wanted us to be able to use her 50% off discount!). it was a great day.

i would love to post pictures from this weekend, but alas, i forgot my camera.

i keep thinking about swine flu.

so i started listening to npr, which is great because i feel like i know more about what's going on in the world. but since i've started listening to it, everyone is talking about swine flu. i think about it all the time. ha. also, i'm reading the book 'the plague' by albert camus. probably not the best choice in books at the moment.

LA is hot!

it was 100 degrees in Los Angeles on monday. ahhh. so hot. it has since cooled down, but oh man, this summer is gonna be crazy. good thing i live near the ocean.
