so far 2009, you've held up your end of the bargin.

i've been telling people that 2009 is going to be a great year, and so far so good. i mean already there have been a few twists in the road, but that's life...right? maybe it's my outlook, which proves a lot about choosing to be positive.

and!!! 2009 has a lot more to offer over the next few months. let me just inform you that i will be seeing my two best friends in the next 2 months!!! laura and erikka are coming to visit...more or less. what more could a girl ask for!?!?! and i know it's a ways away, but HARRY POTTER 6 comes out this summer. i mean, come on if that's not freakin' awesome, i don't know what is.

i hope 2009 for everyone else is just as great...and that the economy isn't hurting you too badly.

it's friday!

i've been working every saturday (and some sundays) for the past two months. that is about to change. today is friday and i'm so excited about the weekend, because i actually get one! yay.

also, today there was this guy behind me who was reading the paper while driving... i kept looking in my rearview mirror to make sure he saw when i braked. oh, LA!

and, if you haven't laughed today, make sure you do. a nice belly laugh, if possible.

the life of a file clerk.

i am currently temping for the international television legal department at the WB, as a file clerk. let me just say that there are times when i find myself so very tired of alphabetizing and my hands are dry from touching paper for so long. but, being in the file room hidden amongst the shelves and shelves of files, gives me the unique opportunity to experience human interaction, like a fly on the wall. most times people come in quickly scan or make a copy and then leave, never knowing that i'm there. other times i catch a conversation or a humorous exchange, the moments in which i believe we are most human.

i feel blessed to have a job, but more importantly i feel blessed to be able to experience God through people in this way. i know there is more for me than the life of a file clerk, but for right now i am choosing to see the good in this job. how truly heartwarming it can be to observe and experience human interaction.

so i'm officially a california resident!! crazy, huh?

since kathryn was in sweden for her birthday, we had a joint celebration with glug and cake. yay for birthdays!!

i spent christmas with the treatches (and the hedbergs!) it was so good to be with people who know and love me when i couldn't go home. and it was SO good to see erikka and eric :)

i love sleeping.

i have NOT been getting enough sleep. that combined with staring at a computer screen, equals me trying desperately not to fall asleep at my desk...this is what i used to feel like when i was in class.

oh LA.

apparently i checked someone out at crate & barrel who is on Mad TV. haha. i don't really think this counts as a celebrity sighting because i didn't know she was famous until after someone told me.

in other news, i'm now 23!! and there are 10 days until christmas!! i cannot wait to see erikka and eric! what a great christmas present :)


ps. it actually does get cold in LA...seriously, i'm cold.

ahhh! i hate traffic.

oh. my. gosh. LA traffic is the worst. everyone warned me, but i didn't really understand until now! oh man. i miss the days when i would turn on my ipod and zone out on the El in chicago... but i do love having the radio in the car ;)
