laura came to visit!!!

so laura came to visit last week!!! yay. we did lots of fun california things and it was so good to have her here :)

of course we went to the beach!! it was laura's first taste of the pacific.

In' n Out!! so good!!

and so is PINKBERRY! i love it!!!

we were flying on to the bed!! so great.

i love the Condaps!

so i came into work today and waiting for me in my inbox was a message from erikka:

"Haha! Erin and Jenna just stopped in to Starbucks
And erin told me that Jenna just said
That she wished the car had wings
So it could go places
And erin asked her where she would want to go
And Jenna said "to visit alisha!"
I had to tell you! :)"

(in case you don't know Jenna is a 3 year old girl i used to babysit and Erin is her mom)

spanish music.

on my drive in to work this morning, i was listening to some music in spanish. this is what i heard:

"te quiero no more.
te queiro no mo-ore. "

haha.

it's february?

really? i've been in california for 4 months? dang.

well, all of you chicagoans (and east coasters) should be jealous because today has been the most perfect weather ever. i was quite pleased with my lunch break. narnia and a wonderful breeze blowing... seriously, what more is there? it's supposed to rain for the next few days. a welcome change i'd say, it makes you appreciate the perfect days even more.

so far 2009, you've held up your end of the bargin.

i've been telling people that 2009 is going to be a great year, and so far so good. i mean already there have been a few twists in the road, but that's life...right? maybe it's my outlook, which proves a lot about choosing to be positive.

and!!! 2009 has a lot more to offer over the next few months. let me just inform you that i will be seeing my two best friends in the next 2 months!!! laura and erikka are coming to visit...more or less. what more could a girl ask for!?!?! and i know it's a ways away, but HARRY POTTER 6 comes out this summer. i mean, come on if that's not freakin' awesome, i don't know what is.

i hope 2009 for everyone else is just as great...and that the economy isn't hurting you too badly.

it's friday!

i've been working every saturday (and some sundays) for the past two months. that is about to change. today is friday and i'm so excited about the weekend, because i actually get one! yay.

also, today there was this guy behind me who was reading the paper while driving... i kept looking in my rearview mirror to make sure he saw when i braked. oh, LA!

and, if you haven't laughed today, make sure you do. a nice belly laugh, if possible.

the life of a file clerk.

i am currently temping for the international television legal department at the WB, as a file clerk. let me just say that there are times when i find myself so very tired of alphabetizing and my hands are dry from touching paper for so long. but, being in the file room hidden amongst the shelves and shelves of files, gives me the unique opportunity to experience human interaction, like a fly on the wall. most times people come in quickly scan or make a copy and then leave, never knowing that i'm there. other times i catch a conversation or a humorous exchange, the moments in which i believe we are most human.

i feel blessed to have a job, but more importantly i feel blessed to be able to experience God through people in this way. i know there is more for me than the life of a file clerk, but for right now i am choosing to see the good in this job. how truly heartwarming it can be to observe and experience human interaction.
